October Update
Hello all!! Well I must first apologise for not posting for such a long time! For the last 6 months I have been working on a research project for the Trad Music Forum assessing the educational needs in the informal education sector of traditional Scottish music and developing a future strategy for organisations to help meet those needs. So a very busy and not very musical few months!! But, the next few months look to be very exciting indeed!
Though I have been busy with this research project, I have managed to do a wee bit of teaching inbetween times and I have to say I really enjoyed working with the students at the Falkirk Feis, what a fantastic bunch!! Teaching alongside Sarah MacNeil was lovelie and all the students did so well! I have also just started back the new term at the RSAMD teaching the students, we have another great bunch and I’m very much looking forward to an exciting and challenging year with all of them.
In my own explorations I am looking forward to finally having the time to make my album! Because I have been without my Aziliz harp for the last 6 and a half months I have been working a lot on the electro-harp and the music I am producing seems to be taking a very different route to where I have been before, which is both scary and brilliant! I am hoping to record an album, once my harp is repaired, using just my Aziliz and the material from my postgraduate and last year. I am very excited about different options for recording spaces, watch this space!!
There are various other projects in the pipelines which I will write more about as they are firmed up. In the mean time do have a listen to the music here, have a swatch at the photos and drop me a line! Most importantly be happy and smile! :-)
